The Reconditioning Process
Every unit follows the original Land Rover procedure. All three phases are set out in full below.
Inspect & Decide
Test, dismantle, inspect – decision point if beyond repair
Full OE-spec test to confirm failure mode
Tested against original Land Rover specification
Dismantle the steering box
Careful disassembly for full inspection
Wash and visual inspection
All components cleaned and examined: housing, sector shaft, valve, piston, cylinder cover
Bearing and crack detection inspection
Bearings checked for wear; crack detection on sector shaft, worm, piston, valve
Decision Point
If beyond repair, we stop here and inform you. Inspection fee starting at £125 applies.
Rebuild to Spec
Replace seals, rebalance valve, precision reassembly
Replace all internal seals with OE components
Genuine OE seals and gaskets throughout
Check and rebalance valve assembly
Proper pressure response and steering feel characteristics
